Dilemma

This has nothing to do with the Army. For once.

However, we are in quite a pickle with our stroller. When we got our Mutsy 4rider 3 years ago, it was perfect. It had the carry cot I wanted, it could accommodate a car seat if I needed it to, it folded up easily and compactly, it turned on a dime, it wasn’t too heavy, and if we ever needed it, we could buy a separate piece to make it a double.

Well, we can now officially scratch that last part. Apparently, they have quit making and distributing the double piece. I have been able to find ONE, but the company who has it for sale, will only sell it as part of a complete stroller set–in other words, I would have to pay $800 for another stroller, just to get the $200 part. Not going to happen.

So, now I get to start shopping all over again. I planned to get a double umbrella stroller, anyway. I love my Maclaren Quest, and foresee getting plenty of use out of a double, even if E suddenly decides she wants to walk during mall trips. I would imagine it will come in especially handy when we finally make a trip to Disney World. Oh yes. That’s happening.

Well, since I won’t be getting my doubles piece, it looks like I am in the market for a jogging stroller. I typically walk at least 5 miles a day, weather permitting, and that seems like the best solution. E certainly isn’t going to be down for walking that on her own, so it looks like a legitimate need.

Here comes dilemma number 2:

The cheapo jogging strollers have no way to accommodate a child less than 6 months of age. The BOB strollers, which come highly recommended, do not have an adapter for our car seat or a carry cot. Phil and Teds makes a great combo that will accommodate both a carry cot and our car seat, but it’s tandem, and the older child sits very low behind the smaller one. I don’t see E being excited about that. The strollers that do all of the things I want it to do cost the same as my entire Mutsy system did, and that just isn’t going to happen, either.

I have no idea what to do, but if anyone has a Bumbleride Indie Twin they want to get rid of for about $200, let me know.
